Unable to Install :(


Ok heres the story, i am trying to install Fedora rc2 on an amd k6-2 450 computer. The problem is i get this error after hitting enter to install:

Kernel Panic: Fatal Exception in interrupt
In interrupt handler - not syncing


can anybody help me with this? i have no idea why this is happening

Try entering one of these following parameters to see if you can isolate the problem:

Post Installation was restart :)

I am trying to install FC2 in my ECS notebook. But it seem's that it will restart after i hitting Enter in boot process.

Boot: Enter (hit)
Loading Linux.........
Uncompressing LInux.......

Then Restart....

Hope you can help me... thanx in advance


Model: ECS model A901
Pro: Via Samuel 530 MHGZ
256 RAM
30 GB hdd (fujitso)

Already try in redhat 9 but its ok...!

i tried what that had to say and no luck i've tried mandrake 10 and knoppix and they also get this same error, its really disappointing as i thought linux would be better than windows but at the moment its causing more headaches than linux

hi
ur grub.conf will help us
also the output of
"fdisk-l"

understanding whether ur file vmlinuz,initrd etc are mapped accordingly or not
u can get the these by booting into rescue mode with ur linux distro 1st CD
then

#chroot /mnt/sysimage

and then try out the above coommands

vi /etc/grub.conf

fdisk -l
