Two problems with F7 installation
Hi, i dont know if someone can help me with this, my problems are:
- During the boot options (when u can select install or upgrade fedora, etc...) i cant use my keyboard (it is a Dell Usb Keyboard), i just have to wait the 60 seconds to autoboot. - The other thing, after customizing the packages, when anaconda starts to format the partitions, it gives me a Fatal error, when formating the "/", i formatted it as a ext3 partition. I had the same issue with fc6, but in that case my keyboard worked during boot, so i used reiserfs as the filesystem, and all worked fine. But know i cant use my keyboard, so i cant use that option during boot . Please if someone knows how to solve this, i will appreciate any help. Thx. P.D. Sorry if my english is bad. |
Does your bios support usb keyboard? If it does, then enable this in bios. Otherwise you are dependent on the operating system booting far enough to load usb support for itelf and then recognising the keyboard.
If it doesn't, do you have access to a non usb k'board - e.g. ps/2 that you can use? I have had this problem before using using a usb keyboard until I enabled keyboard support in bios which solved that delay. |
Prob. Solved
Hi, yeah my Bios has usb keyboard support because with fc6 worked, look to this thread, appereantly is a problem with usb keyboards from Dell
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showth...yboard+problem my pc doesnt have a ps/2 port :(. I managed to solve my second problem, i get Gparted Live CD (http://gparted.sourceforge.net/) and made the ext3 partitions in there (Very nice App!!! :p), and then installed fedora 7 on that created partitions without formatting them. and worked like a charm. Thx anyway for ur help. Cya |
