Shutdown reboots my laptop!!
I am running Fedora Core 3 on an old Acer Travelmate (kernel version = 2.6)! when i click shutdown on the login screen it shuts down my laptop but then immediately restarts the thing! This is really startin to frustrate me so any help would be great!

Hrrm, this could be an acpi related issue. What happens if you use the shutdown command at console? ('shutdown -h now')

i was kindda hopin that that would work, but it doesn't find the command shutdown! even when i search 'which shutdown' it doesn't find it! which is really fuckin strange cause theres a man page for it.....
????????????? HELP!?????

use
/sbin/shutdown -h now
as root. even if you are root, fedora does not setup path automatically.

I have the same problem...
using /sbin/shutdown -h now as root doesn't causes my laptop to reboot too
any other suggestions?
