Unhappy segment fault?

There are 2 os on my computer, fedora core 2 and windows xp
After I intall a new kernel(2.6.8), everytime entering a device(which is vfat) it shows me "segment fault) lol. But the device works on windowsXP and the previous kernel(2.6.5)
Would anyone help me to solve this problem, plz?

Can you return to the previous kernel? If you can and the problem goes away, then, if you want to upgrade to the new kernel, be prepared to back up your data and reinstall at least your Fedora from scratch.
