You can reinstall grub by issuing the command 'grub-install hdx' where hdx (or sdx) is the hard drive you wish to install grub on. For example, to install grub on the primary master SATA drive you'd use 'grub-install sda'.
However, it may be possible that this will not solve your problem, and could break things. Could you describe the problem you are having?
Gethyn - thanks for that, unfortunately grub-install just hangs... What happened is that I did a yum update which included a kernel update. The system then refused to boot with the word GRUB coming up in the top left corner of an otherwise blank screen (this was not a prompt). I can boot from the rescue disk but don't seem to be able to do better than that. I have fiddled with which drive boots and the entries in my grub.conf, all to no avail. There are some comments and files in the Fedora forum.
Gethyn - ok, now I am really confused but happy! Basically I finally got grub-install to work but had to edit my device map first and remove fd0 (there is no floppy drive on this machine). hd0 is mapped to /dev/sdb (the only mapping in the file). Almost forgot the mention - my machine now boots!
