NIC problems with KV8-MAX3

hi, i have just installed fedora, and have been fiddling for a while, but i can't seem to install the Lan card that came with my motherboard, which is connected to my router. Meaning i can't get on the internet.

I am a complete newb at linux, (installed gentoo once though :P ) i know the basics.

The card is a 3com gigabit, on the abit KV8-MAX3.

Could anyone give me some help on how to get it working?

I have exactly the same problem but I installed libranet (Deian). The driver supplied with the mobo utilities disk did not work either. I could not get it to compile, so I suspect there is something wrong with it.

If you managed to get a solution, I will really be glad to know what you did.
