Update on NTFS module:

Running just "make fs/ntfs/" in the kernel source tree (to build just the NTFS module) resulted in errors:
Code:
/bin/sh: line 1: .tmp_versions/ntfs.mod: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [fs/ntfs/ntfs.o] Error 1
make: *** [fs/ntfs/] Error 2
However, by trial and error, and extrapolating from intructions for building a 2.4 module, the following worked - I just hit ctrl-C and killed the make when I saw the NTFS module had compiled OK, to save it going on and compiling everything and filling my drive! I'm sure there's a better way to do that but I dont care
Code:
make fs/ntfs/ modules
cp fs/ntfs/ntfs.o /lib/modules/2.6.1-1.65smp/kernel/fs/ntfs/ntfs.ko
chmod 744 /lib/modules/2.6.1-1.65smp/kernel/fs/ntfs/ntfs.ko
depmod -a
The .ko suffix change got me for the longest. All the existsing instructions leave it at .o
So, half a week and only printer, sound and sensors left to fix! But I do love the new coloursed top 3.1.15... LOL!
Mark

Hi all. I don't know if you solved your NTFS issues yet, but if not, here's a link to check out : http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/. There's a very detailed manual on there, all you have to do is install the small rpm and add a new line into your /etc/fstab and you're golden . I did this a while ago and FC1 works great in read-only on my windows partition and usb2.0 external hard drive, no problems at all.

thanks for the heads up on your FC2 problems, i was thinking of upgrading but i think now i'll wait until an official release of FC2 comes out. hope i was able to help you out some .
