In FC4 there was an option for minimal installation...it seems this one disappeared in FC5. What are the recommendations to do minimal installation?? All I need from the system is to automatically acquire an IP from the router, and to have SSH server and yum installed.
When you get to the part of the installation where you have the option to customize the packages, just uncheck all the check boxes (according to the installer, the basic set of packages is fine for web browsing, and sshd gets included too IIRC), and if you want to tune it manually, choose 'Customize Now'.
That is exactly what I did...I unchecked everything, then picked customize now and removed the GUI and the stuff that I know for sure that I do not want...yet when I checked what is running "chkconfig" I found a lot of stuff which I do not want like blue-tooth and others...
Removing everything while doing the installation, I ended up with a system that does not even acquire an IP from the router!!
