I take it you installed the " live cd" and not the FULL dvd install ?

did you install the "normal" Gnome version or the special KDE version ?

if the normal Gnome dvd then for the KDE tools you need to install KDE desktop

Code:
yum groupinstall "KDE (K Desktop Environment)"
--- for the kde devel tools ---
yum groupinstall "KDE Software Development"
or do you want the Gnome tools ??
see
Code:
yum grouplist
and do you need a gui ide ?
like Eclipse or Anjuta
