Keyboard problem in login screen after Upgrading to FC6

Hi,

I have upgraded from a fully functional FC4 installation to FC6, and all the process went Ok (apparently). After first boot of FC6, the graphical login screen is displayed and the keyboard works in a funny way. It seems to be in other language and only garbage is displayed on the username field when tryin to type anything, so it is not possible to login.

I've tested the Rescue Mode and the keyboard works fine, does anybody have an idea where to check or change the keyboard operation mode of FC6 Graphical Login Screen? Do I have to reinstall instead of upgrade?

Thanks in advance.

Change keyboard language

It seems you have installed your system or fedora updated falsely you system to another language (one you dont understand :-).

So the best is you look at the grub-loader and try to change the language. I think this is possible. But now ask how and i can't say it right.

I was not able to solve the problem on the upgraded system, so I've decided to start up from scratch. I backed up all my important data and installed FC6 instead of upgrading old FC4.

Now my FC6 linux box is working.

Thanks again for your help

Glad you have now FC6 installed. Sad that the update not worked well. But your're not the first. I am still using FC5 and i will make some new install of FC6 too cos i read some threads where they had problems to after updating. So it seems to me this is not really possible without problems. Maybe it is cos after using a long time FC5 some users install other packages which are not in the repository, me included.
You can find these threads at http://www.fedoraforum.org/
