Yeah, I downloaded the source for slack when I installed it and found out there are only two cds, they really should label them better. I dunno, its irritating becuase I wasted a bunch of cds on source isos.

You probably got the source rpms as well.

Get these files named like this

FC2-test2-i386-disc1.iso....

Geez. I think I should make a checklist

Did you burn the ISO itself or use a program to burn the ISO? As in Nero or something of the likes? Because an ISO is a image of info which allows the information to be seen as one file. To burn it you cannot just burn the iso itself, you have to burn the Info from the ISO. To do this you can use Nero, I am sure there are a few utilities out there to do it also.

Plus, remeber to BURN SLOWLY. ISOs are bitchy as hell and hate being burned at high speeds, it will cause errors and it may be unbootable

If you did all of that, on the cd 1 there should be a boot disk section with a program called raw write which will allow you to write an *.img file to a 3 1/2 floppy, which will make you a boot disk. There should be a readme which will explain it, and if there isnt ask again and I will explain

I had the same problem with FC2 binary ISO #1 not booting on ANY of my PC's. The short term solution is to boot FC1 ISO #1 to get the install Grub bootloader option screen. At this point switch to FC2 ISO #1 and press enter to proceed with the installation. FC2 installed correctly for me this way.

It's no use...

I've tried to burn fc2 disc1 with nero at 2x,4x,and 12x speed but still won't boot from any pcs.

And there is no rawwrite program in all fc2 cds, even though there is some *.img files in fc2 disc1 but none of them can be wrote in 3 1/2 floppy, the size of the *.img files are too large.

i've tried to use bootdisk.img from fc1 but the bootdisk keep asking me for fc1 cd , it won't install when i used fc2 cds.

any clue? thanks in advance..

I heard something from around, try booting with Fc1 cd #1 and then switching to the fc2 disc when it boots. I dunno at what point though, test it out. Someone said there was a problem with the booter in the fc2 cds.

Does anyone know if that will work with RH9 CD1 in the place of Fedora Core 1 CD1? Ive got the RH9 isos but not the FC1 ones and I want to know before I burn it again.
