Installing FC4 with SATA drives and NVRAID chipset

I would like to install FC4 on a Tyan S2865 motherboard. This board has the nVIDIA nForce4 Ultra chipset with NVRAID. The NVRAID is disabled in BIOS as I would prefer to use software RAID in LInux. There is no JBOD setting in the BIOS selections.

The installation goes smoothly. However, the system refuses to boot after the Grub stage2 message.

What must I do to install FC4 on this motherboard?
