install fedora on a asus eee
my eee-pc netbook also has 4 partitions taken. i wasnt sure how to install so i just run from live-usb... judging by sizes and names. i think the partitions are for: restore, windows, backup, boot ?
(maybe i will transfer the image to an sd-card so it feels more internal). edit: does anyone know which partion would be safe to delete: Code:
[liveuser@localhost ~]$ sudo fdisk -l /dev/sda |

I'd recommend you mount /dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2 and see what's in them. If /dev/sda2 is empty in your case as it was mine, then of course it is safe to delete. (I would recommend making a backup of /dev/sda1 to an external drive before proceeding, just in case...) |

i would like to install fc-14 to my eee-pc netbook (ASUS Eee PC 1001PX 3-cell) but the 4 partitions are taken by windows. i wasnt sure how to install so i just run from live-usb... judging by sizes and names. i think the partitions are for: restore, windows, backup, boot ? (maybe i will transfer the image to an sd-card so it feels more internal). i would like to install fedora but i dont want to fubar my win-xp. edit: does anyone know which partion would be safe to delete: Code:
[liveuser@localhost ~]$ sudo fdisk -l /dev/sda |

If /dev/sda2 is blank, then it is the logical, safe choice to delete, creating empty space for your Fedora install. |
thanks for the advice but it has some stuff in it:
Code:
[liveuser@localhost ~]$ sudo mount /dev/sda2 hd2 |
