I need create bootloader. How make bootloader?

I just installed Fedora Core 3 and I chose not to install a bootloader.

Now Fedora won't boot because it has no bootloader.

Does anyone know how I can create a bootloader for fcp3 on a floppy or a cd?

use your 1st FC3 cd or the DVD and reboot. Read the screen info to use rescue mode. Even though you didn't install the bootloader I guess GRUB will be on your disk. At the command prompt try:

man grub-install

that will give you all the necessary instructions as to how to install it to a floppy. You might also check the LQ forums for something like "grub reinstall" or "I lost grub" or similar. (I wrote a couple of times about this before)

Thankyou but man grub-install not work in rescue mode. I try to make iso in rescue mode but cannot burn it because cd burner not work in rescue mode either and bootloader for fcp3 too big to put on floppy. So i say I am dirty like the mouth of dog.

Why fcp3 offer to not install bootloader but then give you no option to create a diskette or cd bootloader?

This seem very dumb. RH9 allowed the creation of bootloader disk. What is problem. I never going to put bootloader in mbr because it is fukk my windows. Everybody here at the forum say fukk windows
anyway you don't need this' but there is some things window I need. Someday I linux only.

So for other people who have same problem as me: You cannot create a bootloader floppy for fcp3 because it its too big. You cannot create bootloader iso becasue it not burn in rescue mode.

If you don't choose to install a bootloader with fcp3 you got a black screen. You like black screen?
THink its funny? I fight you. In my village we solve disrespect problems with fight and winner is correct man. Now I save my money for separate hard drive. It cost lots of money in my country but I will buy on black market. fcp3 is not a dual boot on one hd solutions. maybe in future.

...ok, and where exactly is the 'bay area' you live?...

anyway, back to business. You can't make a bootloader floppy, but if I understand correctly you CAN install the bootloader to another partition (not MBR) and make a grub/lilo diskette that points to this image. I'm not familiar with the specifics, but may be someone can explain it to you. It's nothing to do with FC, it's because the kernel is too big to fit on a floppy. I know it's possible because I've had Slackware 10 installed and started it from a floppy with lilo, with kernel 2.6

As for windows... I work with a desktop PC with GRUb on the MBR and windows98 / FC· etc. etc. and a laptop with WinXP on which I start linux from the windows bootloader, both working without the least problem.

Finally there are external programs, like 'gag' that can be installed on a floppy (or MBR) and allow you to choose which OS to start... take your pick
