Question HDD not detected while FC3 installation

I hv 40 GB HDD and WINXP on 30GB, 10GB is free for linux.I tried installing Fedora Core 3 today but my HDD is not detected while installation.It gives the following error:"hda unreadable"
plz help.

i the 10 gb free space with no file system, fedora installation cannot read the ntfs file system.

the filesystem used is FAT and not NTFS.
