Flaky screen resolution setup

Hi,

So I install Fedora Core 4 in my Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop, no issues.

Screen resolution is set to 800x600 and as I've a ATI 64meg card, I
want to change that to 1024x768, as is in my windows.

I change this on my other user( not root ) using
Desktop -> Preferences -> Screen Resolution,
the screen is totally screwed up, from the time I pressed ok.

The screen is split, tool-bars are all over the place and I don't know
as how to get it right or even get it back.

But my settings for my 'root' is fine but with 800x600.

How do I fix the screen for the other user and also get it right for
'root' as well.

Thanks,
Kramer.

After playing around the broken screen-resolution, I got to the menu, where I changed it before and switched back to 800x600, while I was able to test diff. resolutions, the screen didn't properly at all.

Also, I find that my video-card is actually ATI Mobility Radeon 9000, but the one detected by Fedora/Anaconda is ATI Radeon M9. Are they the same ?

Thanks.
