Dont take me seriously but you may have a corrupt filesystem, try running
fsck -f
-f means force
fsck is filesystem check
Or you may have a problem with your BIOS
try reseting your BIOS, i did have similar problems with FC3
Or you may have to re install
reset your bios by taking your batery out from your motherboard for 30 seconds first before you consider re formatting but before all this you may want to do FSCK
to me its like installing new software on corrupt software in windows, it just goes blah.
