Question Fedora Partitioning

I have a windoze 98 machine and I want to install Fedora Core 2 on the same drive and have a choice as to what OS I use.
The whole Hard Drive is partitioned FAT32 (80gig). It looks like, to me, that Fedora will erase my FAT32 partition and everything on it. Can I split the drive in two without losing windows? You used to be able to with earlier versions of Disk Druid (I've had RH 5 & 7 at different times) but there is no indication that I can do this without erasing everything.

I don't think you can dynamically resize (shrink) a windoze partition while installing Fedora, though maybe its possible. I think you should resize your windoze partition first in advance using some different tools. For instance you could do this with parted running from a live linux cd distribution like knoppix or adios. (Adios is actually a Fedora live linux cdrom; knoppix is Debian).

I installed Partition Magic (7 0r 8) on Windows and used it to shrink the Windows partition to have space for a new Linux partition. But be ware if you're about to install FC2.

There is problem with FC2 fresh install. It prevent Windows to boot. To get around, install FC1 first then upgraded to FC2and ignore boot loeader update when being prompted for. See my other thread about this.
