Fedora installation problems on intel 101GGC
I tried to install FC5 on a computer with 101GGC mother board.After the 1st screen,when i pressed enter,a jumbled up screen appeared.Then i tried to install FC4.Now,the installation was proceeding,but after selecting the keyboard,the computer hanged.This happened several times.Then i decided to install SUSE 10.This time,everything went fine.But,after the installation when the computer rebooted,it hanged.What can be the problem?
the config is-Intel 101GGC board,80GB hard disk,P4 2.8 GHz processor. |
Intel 101GGc Board incompatible for Linux
I too have the same problem
I have Intel 101GGc Board, with Intel 2.8 GHz processor with supporting to 64 bit computing, 512 MB of RAM (64MB shared Memory), 40GB HDD, 48X cdWriter, I have Installed RHEnterprise Linux 4 It took whole day to install, and also it was taking nearly 10 min to boot completely, I uninstalled It, later I tried with fedora 5, fedora 6, fedora6 64 bit, all giving the error in the starting of installation. as I boot up with the CD ROM it boots and then a garbage appears on the screen It is telling some IDE error. which Linux version can I Use? or any configuration changes I have to Do? |
Hey Guys I had the same problem...... (Scrambeled screen thing)
But mine was solved by formating the HDD at bios level using fdisk..... Please take proper back-up before formating the hard-disk though... |
