Fedora Installation Help !

Hello,

I must say that im new to linux.

I am trying to install fedora linux in Lenovo T61 machine, i have downloaded the i368 DVD ISO from fedora home page and hae burned the ISO in a DVD. When i restart my system, i get four options asusual.
Now when i try 1st option

1) Upgrade or install Fedora 8: It goes well in the start asks for test the DVD, and sucessfully passes the test, and after a while when it tries to start the GUI installation, the screen just goes black, i have tried this a number of times but same response. Is there any thing to do with resolution or any other support ???

2) Upgrade or install fedora 8 in Text mode: The whole installation goes well and the system is rebooted, until this point it hasnt asked for any Host name. After rebooting it asks for host name and password, which i havent set. Is there any default host name and pwd for this ??? or am i missing some thing else???

Thank you in advance.

Yes, I installed SLED on a T61 and ran into problems with
the video. As I recall, I needed to add a "vga=???" option
during the installation, and then I needed to remove the
option from the /boot/grub/menu.lst file. Finally I needed
to use the GUI tool to set the desired video mode.

The hostname and root password are things that need to
be customized for each installation. Pick a hostname you
like that will be easy to remember. Obviously, you'll
want to create a new password, since anyone who can
guess your password will be able to damage your computer.
