Fedora Core 4 on Optiplex GX620 - hang during boot

Dear all,

Am a newbie to Linux.

With a lot of effort, I did finally manage to install FC 4 on my Optiplex GX620 which has SATA, built-in video and audio.

Though the installation went well (I didn't notice any errors), FC-4 just wouldn't boot. If I am not wrong, it hangs when starting the power management services.

Am not sure if this has been already discussed on this forum. I just couldn't find a thread in this regard.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me on this or point me to a thread where there is a solution.

Thanks much.

Your help is much appreciated.

Best,
James

When you boot the kernel, include "acpi=off" (I think that's correct) to see if that helps
