Fedora Core 1 on Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
I just put together a new system and was wondering what additional drivers and settings will I need to install to get all components working in Fedora Core 1
I used the default "Desktop" option in Fedora Core 1 and installed the latest kernel version 2.4.22-1.2174.nptl.athlon and kernel-source. I downloaded the latest nVidia video driver NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run, installed and setup.
I downloaded and installed the latest ALSA rpm files for kernel 2.4.22.1.2174.nptl. ALSA said to use Intel8x0 as card type. It got onboard sound working but I'm getting funny clicking and interference sounds coming out the speakers now. (I'm just using 2 speakers)
mb = Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
cpu = AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 512K 333FSB Barton
ram = 2 x Samsung 256MB PC3200 DDR400 184PIN in Dual Mode
video = MSI GeforceFX 5600 VTDR128 128MB DDR DVI-I VIVO
hdd = Maxtor 80GB 7200RPM 8MB 8.5MS ATA133 IDE
cdrw = AOpen 20x10x40 IDE
dvd = LiteOn 16x IDE
The 2 onboard Ethernet cards were not detected and I am not able to find them in the list of different cards.
Is there any other special rpm's or files I will have to download and install to get everything working on the system? I thought I read somewhere I may need additional nVidia files?
Thanks
