Fedora Core 1 install hangs on Loading SCSI Driver with AIC-7896
I have a "new" system with an Intel L440GX+ board, which has an integrated AIC-7896 SCSI controller. While attempting to install Fedora Core 1, the system hangs on Loading SCSI driver. Any suggestions?

Did you get it to work?
I am also getting stuck with the same problem. It hangs on "Loading AIC7XXX driver" for a long time (30 min+) and then moves on, but when it goes to install, says there is no hard-drive. However, the HD works fine. I tested it with an Windows Install.

AHA2940UW also...
Did you wait  "30" minutes???
My actual setup (waiting for the arrival of ServeRAID host adapter and disks...) is: - Pentium III 600 Mhz - 128 Mb RAM - PCI version of Adaptec AHA2940UW - 3 UW SCSI disks... I didn't wait so long... I tried also Slackware 9.1 (no problems, with adaptec.s installkernel) and RH Advanced Server 2.1 (a little wait, say 10-20 seconds). I will give FC1 another try, waiting longer... After that, I will prepare a set of boot/install floppies with a stock kernel... trying to get rid of the aic7xxx broken module... Stay tuned!
