Fedora 7 upgrade fails with swap problem

I tried to use the Fedora 7 DVD to upgrade my Fedora 6 installation, only to get the error messages:

"error enabling swap device hda3. No such file or directory. The /etc/fstab on your upgrade partition does not refer to a valid swap partition."

Since the partition and fstab entry were created when installing Fedora 6, this is a puzzle. I have a 1GB partition with the entry

/dev/hda3 swap swap defaults 0 0

which seems fair enough. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want to reinstall: the new version lacks Gnucash (black mark here!) and that's too big to get from the repository on a dial-up connection.

Check the release notes - it appears Fedora require the use of labels to get around the (disk) name changes introduced by the libata changes in 2.6.19.

Plenty of threads here on LQ.

The naming of devices in FC7 is now different from FC6. Edit your /etc/fstab and change the swap device to
Code:
/dev/sda3 swap swap defaults 0 0
Ater that reboot and try to upgrade.
