Fedora 7 DVD after booting stops with a READY message

Hi, I have a Pentium IV with 3 SATA drives and 2GB memory. I was running Fedora 6 for sometime with no problems. Fedora was on the third drive second partition as I have other distributions. When I went to install Fedora 7 DVD, it boots and loads the vmlinux and the initrd and stops with ready message. I have a clean partition with a disklabel on it. I have tried Ver 7, ver 7.90 and ver 8 (test) of fedora. All behaves identical.
Any help will be appreciated. Incidentally, due to some other problems I have deleted fedora 6. Many thanks
