Fedora 6 Installation hangs [newby]
I'm trying to install Fedora 6 on my PC.
I checked the hash values before burning the CD's. After it displays the screen "Loading SCSI driver" "Loading ata_piix driver" it just hangs, no matter what option I choose. My PC has the following configuration: Pentium IV 2600MHZ ASUS P4P800 motherboard (Intel Springdale i865PE chipset) AMI BIOS (latest) 2 IDE Hard drives (WD400 JB and WD400BB) 1 SATA Hard drive (WD2500KS) (I tried disconnecting the SATA drive, it doesn't help) LG DVD-ROM (HL-DT-STDVD-ROMGD) model GDR-8161B LG R/RW (HL-DT-ST-GCE-8520B) model GCE-8520B ASUS V9520-x graphics card (nVidia FX 5200) I'll appreciate any help. Thanks. |
Check is any BIOS upgrade is available for your Mother Board. Also check if the BIOS provides different modes for the Disks. These steps can help but not a sure shot resolution.

Thanks.
I have the latest BIOS. No particular settings for IDE disks. I disconnected the SATA disk and it didn't help. |
