fc6 DVD install fails, cannot open repomd.xml

Hi.

After booting with my fc6 DVD, I run the graphical installer and get as far as entering a password for the root account. (I get past disk druid, time zone selection, etc.)

After that I get an error message that ends in:
cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository anaconda-base-200610172015.x86_64

and then I am forced to abort the installation.

The SHA1 hash for the iso matches up, so I don't think it's bad media (has failed with two separate DVDs).

This is an ASUS A8N-series SLI mainboard with nothing fancy about it. Generic (lite-on probably) DVD-RW drive.

What am I missing?
