FC5 Installs, but crashes when it tries to run the FirstBoot process

I installed Fedora core 5 x86_64 without any trouble. But right after the installation is complete, when it boots for the first time, it will always freeze when it tries to start the "firstboot" process. I tried to use the interactive mode and skipped firstboot and fedora starts properly. However, since I am a total newbie, I would like to run firstboot so it can help me configure some system settings.

when the system is booting, i noticed that KUDZU caused a segmentation fault. And right before it freezes after firstboot is trying to start, it shows several messages with something like "/usr/share/fisrtboot/modules/ : gtkdeprecationwarning: gtk.TRUE is deprecated, use TRUE instead ......" ..

Anyone know whats going on ?

Ok, I narrowed it down to my display.
When I tried to run system-config-display, it crashes instantly
