FC3 - missing /dev/osst

Well, like the subject sugest..

i've got a Onstream DI-30 tape streamer.
i added hdd=ide-scsi to the grub boot menu..
and yes in dmesg there is an entry sugesting that he found the tape streamer..
so all modules are loaded.. that part is ok.

the only thing i'm missing is the /dev/osst0 device in the /dev directory
there is no osstX or nosstX ??

what is the problem with FC3. i understood there is a new hotplugable system that manage the /dev dir..
but how can i let it make my osst device ??
sugestions or links on howto's ???
