Now my question is... that with this new alss driver i havent been able to run from day 1.
so thtats why its using oss layer on top of ALSA, not alsa driver itself...
ANd i want to run alsa drive with this chip set.. but havent been able to do so..
I need big help in this regard.

ALso currently my sound with xmms and others is is blocking that meas if there ia another aplication which uses sound. dosent give any sound and is blocked.
SO whem i close xmms i can here sounds which has buffred while it was blocking.
How to make this sound effect as non blocking.

Any help is higly appreciable.

Did you try to change the audio output in xmms? Right click xmms, Options(Choices)

Try selecting OSS, ALSA, ARts and see which one works for you.
