Editing GRUB2

I'm a newbie to Linux. After the FC2 install, GRUB2 would no longer see XP. I've worked around that by using the BIOS to select the appropriate hard-drive during boot. GRUB2 still comes up, but only on my Linux drives. Anyway GRUB2 defaults to the 2.6.5 kernel and I have to select the 2.6.6 kernel during the Linux boot process. If I could change the default setting of GRUB2 I could let the PC boot unattended. Any help out there?

You can make the changes to grub by editing /boot/grub/grub.conf. For your 2.6.6 kernel you want to duplicate the title section for 2.6.5 and rework it for 2.6.6. Here is a grub manual:

Here is a manual on dual booting Linux and XP.
