Don't understand, where I can find Fedora 12 boot.img?!

Hi all,

I would like to install Fedora 12 using HTTP.

Following instructions from http://docs.fedoraproject.org/instal...new-users.html I have to download boot.iso using link fedora/linux/releases/12/Fedora/arch/os/images/boot.iso but I don't know where is that, and which url?

Can you help me please?

Thank you on your answer. Can you help me with just one more thing...

On link http://docs.fedoraproject.org/instal...m-nfs-x86.html is a note that I have to boot with installer with askmethod command, but I don't know where to run it...

Before I worked on some older versions of Linux, and it was so obvious, but in Fedora 12....

Just to mention, I want to perform network installation using local intranet network and web server.

Thank you in advance!!!

http://docs.fedoraproject.org/instal...n-options.html

Quote:

The Fedora installation system includes a range of functions and options for administrators. To use boot options, enter linux option at the boot: prompt.
So you want to enter linux askmethod at the boot prompt.

You can also enter the entire thing if you want to skip the askmethod step.

enter
Code:

linux repo=http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/12/Fedora/i386/os/images/
at the boot prompt.
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/instal...-installmethod

Remember, this is for i386 install. If you want x86_64 then you have to download the x86_64 boot.iso and specify x86_64 instead of i386 in the above repo line

But there is no boot prompt - I always get menu, with options like Install, Install or repair, etc.

That's why I am confused with all the thing...

p.s. i know that i need different verions for 32 and 64 bit.

I don't understand what you mean.
If you want to install from a local intranet server, then you'll have to download the whole fedora OS directory and point each install at that instead of the link I gave.

Interrupt the boot, before you see those menus.
As soon as you see a linux line at the top of the screen, start hitting space until you see the boot menu. You get 5 seconds according to the grub.conf on the disc.
