Disk error

Hi all,

Last night I upgraded by home linux box from fc4 to fc6 np. However when I use the same CD's to upgrade my dual boot (win xp/ fc5) box to fc6 I'm getting the following error:

isolinux: Disk error 01, AX=4200, drive 82.

This occurs after mounting the install image, i.e. the second auto thing the install/upgrade does. This occurs when installing/upgrading with either graphic or text formats.

Any pointers, much appreciated.

Hi Noel,

If the disk worked fine on a previous installation I could only assume that the drive is not up to the job. I recently flashed the BIOS on my drive and it can now burn and read 16x DVD disks, whereas before it simply spat them back out. It was quite an epic doing the BIOS upgrade and it carries all the caveats of course however I would reccomend it if you have no other alternative.
