Core 3 DNS resolving problem

I have installed FC3 at my workplace, and assigned it a proper IP and pointed it to the proper default gateway and DNS servers. I have checked this configuration many times, started and restarted the network service many times, and even rebooted the machine. I have also confirmed that the DNS servers are working, as all other machines and servers are currently using them.

I have also checked under the resolv.conf file, and found that the DNS servers are indeed set up there as nameservers. I can ping any address in the company. I guess what I am saying is that aside from DNS not resolving, the network service is running perfectly on my FC3 box.

Is there some configuration that I am missing? I need the box to perform as any other unix box would on the network when you type a command such as:

telnet hostname

Is there any way to get this service running, so that I do not have to set up all hosts in the /etc/hosts file? Thank you for your answers in advance!!

alntht: Add the following lines to /etc/modprobe.conf, reboot and retest DNS resolution:

/etc/modprobe.conf:
...
alias ipv6 off
alias net-pf-10 off
...

That usually fixes the “DNS not resolving” problem in FC2 and FC3.
