Boot failure, No volume groups found (FC5)

Hi all,
I had FC5T2 running fine (in a VMWare installation). Last night I decided to upgrade to T3 and, after a rather smooth (albeit loooong) install process it came time for the big reboot. Now, for some reason, it cannot seem to find the Volume Groups. The specific errors it shows right before it hangs are:

No volume groups found
Unable to find volume group "VolGroup00"

I have exhausted my research abilities today trying to figure out what is wrong. To my untrained eye, everything I looked at seems to be setup properly. I'm relatively unexperienced when it comes to this type of problem so I could really use some help. I'm not even sure what pertinent information to add here other than to say that if I start a rescue disk and run vgscan it seems to report all is well (i.e Found VolGroup00) lvscan reports two logical volumes and both are marked as "ACTIVE"

Can somone get me pointed in the right direction? I'm not really looking forward to another complete install.

Thanks,
Glen
