ALSA Configuration

Hello All:

I have an uncommon ALSA configuration that I need to figure out how to get the system functioning properly. I seem to have an issue that is fairly easy in Windows, but I have not figured out the Linux way to do this.

I am using Fedora Core 6 and I have two audio devices. The built in Realtek audio card and my USB audio device which supplies line in and line out levels to other equipment (specifically, the input on my stereo system). Currently I have all audio going out through the USB Audio Codec into that device.

The problem comes in when I use my TV tuner card, it's output goes into the input of the system audio card (the Realtek). I need specify this input for input 1 (or whatever) and have this output to the USB Audio Codec instead of through the standard audio card output. How does one do this?

Help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

try using the JACK audio server, and a gui frontend like Qjackctl
http://jackaudio.org/
http://qjackctl.sourceforge.net/

JACK should be in the fedora repo's, but I don't know about qjackctl. What JACK should allow you to do is connect the input from the realtek card to the output of the usb audio device.. play around with it and see what happens!
