This is more a complaint than a question, since it seems to be a bug in system-config-packages on fc4.
I want to see if somebody have the same problem, trying to install software with Add/Remove aplications applet. Every time I want to install something, when I insert the cd, the program exits with an error. If I start the applet again with the correct cd in place, then, I can install every thing right, but, if I have to change de CD, the same error appears.
Never happened in FC3.
It's probably a good idea to file a bug report if this happens consistently for you. Most developers and testers use yum, so system-config-packages may not be as heavily tested these days.
I Have discovered that the problem appears when I have my second cd unit attached to the system.
Cannot say if this is because is a CDRW or what, but, that's the cause of the problem.
If I have the CD reader only, theres no problem.
Well, this was just to install the software that already come with the distro, so i don't have to download it with yum, since the connection speed is too much variable.
