Question yum with offline repository

Having no direct access from linux-pc to Internet, I would like to configure yum to use DVD-image or local filesystem repositories. Is it possible? Which steps are necessary?

for fedora
do not even bother , unless you want to burn a 3+ gig dvd every 30 to 60 days ( or less sometimes, once a week)

fedora changes so fast that it it out dated the next week

for a computer that CAN NOT be connected to the net -- WHY ??( for security reasons is one)
install CentOS5.5 or RHEL 5.5
there are only a few security updates a month

Hi,

I started a thread for the same request. So what I'm hearing is that it's possible, but you don't recommend it.

Well, I would still like to use the DVD iso that was used for the install as a repo.

What are the steps or where can we find the steps to do that?

I've used a tutorial but it was based on Fedora 5, but it didn't work.

Thanks for your help.
