yum update failed

i just tried to update yum...and after downloading ~800MB files....the update did not start and it was testing something not sure what it was and then nothing happened.

when i tried yum update again i was asked to download everything again. By checking the space the downloaded files are still there...how can i delete them??? or use them??? where are they located???

thnx

yum clean all

will delete all of the files.

Now sometimes I have problems with yum when new updates are placed in the repos. Usually I wait until the next day and everything works fine. You might have another problem.

Have you added any repors. What repos are you using.

Your not suppose to mix the livina repo with the fresh rpms repo.

No, no!

You can turn off the repo.

Ok, this is what I do. I have repos that are not part of the yum update. I used yumex to access the repos that are not part of the yum updates.

So, you could goto your yum repos (it's somewhere in etc I forget where off hand) and disable the repos that you do not want to use.
