yum error on FC5

how can i get yum update to work, eveytime i type yum check-update, I get the following

Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: jpackage-fedora
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: jpackage-fedora

how to I add a baseurl and to which file?

Also when i type the command pirut, I get the following

unable to retrieve software information. This could be caused by not running a network connection available.

The internet connection is working ok and don't know how to fix this? Please help!!!

I always try this if I have problems with yum:

yum clean all

That may clear the error and if you then try and re-run yum the problem will have gone away.

Try it and see - it won't hurt.
