Yum dependency problem

I was trying to update my system using:
yum update
but was given the error message:
Error: Missing Dependency: net-snmp = 5.2.1-12 is needed by package net-snmp-libs

I tried to work around this by only updating net-snmp to no avail. I downloaded the rpm kernel-module-ntfs-2.6.12-1.1456_FC4-2.1.22-0.rr.9.4.x86_64.rpm but trying to install it with either
yum localupdate or rpm -Uvh gave the same error.
How can the thing I'm trying to update be dependent on itself?
I also tried to find net-snmp-libs to update that but couldn't.
SOmeone out there must know what the hell is going on!!

Thanks
Luke

Hi.

You'll have to update net-snmp and net-snmp-libs at the same time (I'd imagine to the same version number).

Have a look here:
http://www.rpmseek.com

It's possible that the YUM repository was in the middle of being updated when you tried updating, and had one package, but not the other. You might want to try it again later.

I had the same problem. I solved it with yum remove net-snmp-libs, then yum upgrade.
