|

I am some kind of new, sorry |
/etc/yum.repos.d/updates-released.repo
what have you already tried then? what didn't work? |
[updates-released]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Released Updates #baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/ mirrorlist=http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/updates-released-fc$releasever enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora |
edit
fedora-updates.repos, fedora-extras.repos, fedora.repos, and i install new yum software, but it cause me a problem. |
ok edit that file, remove the # from the baseurl line and add one to the mirrorlist line and try that... can you actually get on line at all though? i'd wonder if yum is actually at fault... can you see the web page at http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mi...s-released-fc5 cos that's the file that yum is trying to download.

I edit that file. following is what I edit it.
[updates-released] name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Released Updates baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/ #mirrorlist=http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors/updates-released-fc$releasever enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora but it still dosen't work. the new error message is # yum -y update Setting up Update Process Setting up repositories Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: updates-released failure: repodata/repomd.xml from updates-released: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try. |
ok, i vote for a network probelm then. as above you need to be able to reach that url.
|
I don't think so, cause last time i used to install FC5, and on FC5 "yum -y update" worked perfectly. I don't understand why on FC4 it doesn't work. Actually, I am trying to install Xen3.0 on FC4, to create domainU I have to use yum command to install FC4 on domainU. If yum command doesn't work I can't finish creating domain U.
|
ok, one more time... can you reach that URL?? forget yum totally. just use a web browser. yum is apparently not at fault in the slightest...
|
anyway thanks you guys. I'll talk to my teacher.
