I would like to know if Xgl is available for fedora core 4 and if yes how to install this.. Also what are the hardware requirements for it ?

As far as I know, the only way to get Xgl working on FC4 is a compilation from source. You'll need a very recent 3d graphics card from a select group (most NVidias, some ATI) and a decent amount of RAM. If you currently use a lot of swap, forget Xgl.
