Would this work?? Instalation ??

I have one of those extremly annoying Sony viao 505's with the docking station, so of course I cant install fedora becuse it wont recognize the cdrom after it boots the cd. but I had an idea.......

If I were to use a USB cdrom device would Fedora be able to use that for instalation of the cd's????? Does anyone know if this would work???

I am not sure if fedora has support for USB instalations???? I was thinking I could set my bios to boot via usb and I would be good to go????

I can install slackware via hardrive partician and BSD will just load right on there and it loves the docking station, but any other distro doesnt like it.

If your bios supports this, then it should be possible.

hmmm I think the bios should support it, my main question is if fedora would support it, becuase fedora doesnt support my docking station install, just loads the CD for the install but looses compatability with the CDrom after initial boot of fedora install
Its like my bios has no prob booting up the docking station but when fedora boots up and you have to choose your instalation medium it says "hey you dont have a cdrom where did it go" Leave it to sony to make incompatable stuff!
