wireless troubles on fedora core 1

Hey, im a bit new to linux, first thing i am trying to get working is my wirless card, the problem is, i am on a pc, and i have an orinoco silver pcmcia card, its in the computer via a pcmcia to pci adapter, it comes up in linux as something like RL745f or similar, and also has a label to it saying "Yenta_socket" i guess what i need to do is get it to recognize the actual wireless device connected through it, as of now its only detecting the adapter.
