Wireless Trouble, Broadcom BCM4318, Gateway 7510 GX laptop

Having trouble getting this one to work, there are several guides online for this card and I have tried to follow several of them.

My laptop is the Gateway 7510GZ
The wireless card is the Broadcom BCM4318 (internal, use FN + F2 to enable)

I downloaded ndiswrapper 1.31 stable from = http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=99148

From reading a few guides I found the 64bit driver (bcmwl5.inf) and installed it. I blacklisted the default fedora driver (bcm43xx) and modprobed ndiswrapper, no errors.

But nothing I try will get the LED to show the wireless is active, and it cant find my (working) router.

Any help in making sure fedora can detect the fn+F2 command and (with the correct drivers) enable the wireless cards radio, would be helpfull. I am using FC-6-i386

Thanks.

Your problem is not with the fn+F2 key combo but rather with the Windows driver you installed. You are running a 32-bit kernel, install the 32-bit Windows driver it is that simple. If you were running a 64-bit version of the OS then you would use the 64-bit Windows driver.

That did work, wireless is now going strong. Thanks for the help.

But installing FC6 x64 did strangly break my sound... it was working fine in the 32bit release, i find that strange.

I will look around for a solution. Thanks for helping me with the wireless problem.
