Installed ndiswrapper how??? Please post the actual error message and other details like the output from the commands;

uname -a

iwlist wlan0 scan

iwconfig wlan0

ndiswrapper -l

Try pressing the wireless button once then try connecting again;

Code:
ifconfig wlan0 up or dhclient wlan0 or dhcpcd wlan0

these pages help you rip drivers for FC5 from the windows drivers. I found these instructions helpful and I am using them right now with a linksys WPA54G v1.2 wireless pcmcia card.
