Window Manager disappears on 2nd KDE Desktop

I am runng KDE on FC3. I have a dual head setup using a ATI Radeon 9200 with 2 desktops.

On several occassions, I have found that the windows manager dissappears from the 2nd desktop. By this I mean no frames or title bars on any of the windows. The running applications still display their windows, including the KDE panel but I can not longer control the windows i.e. resize, move etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Some additional information.

After the window manager has gone, if I logout and then back in again. I get a single virtual desktop called 'Desktop1' but still no window manager.

By turning off dual head, logging in again, turning dual head on again, logging in again, I get my fully functional 2nd desktop again.

I've had this happen to me also, about 4 times now. I'm running Mandrake 10.1 with 4 virtual desktops. What has happened sounds similar to your problem. The Pager all of a sudden changes to 1 Virtual desktop and I lose control of all the windows. Mouse inputs and clicks work fine but keyboard input fails. I've been logging into a gnome session to rename my .kde directory to .kdebak to recover but it's a little bit of work. After I sign back into a KDE session, my keyboard and windows work but I have to copy a whole lot of stuff back into the new .kde directory. There's got to be an easier solution...
