Why are my Fedora 5 desktop icons moving?

I've just upgraded to FC5. So far I like what I see with one exception. Every time I re-boot I find my desktop icons have moved. When I right click on the desktop I see an option " Keep Aligned", which I have checked, assuming it referes to the icons, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. It's no big deal, but definitely annoying.

Has anyone else encountered this with FC5? Am I missing something?

Are you using GNOME or KDE? In KDE there is an option to lock the icons in place when you right click on your desktop and go into the icons menu.

Sorry, I should have mentioned which desktop I'm using. I'm in Gnome. It seems to lack the feature you mentioned in KDE, to which I've also seen reference in other posts in this forum.

I am not sure how to fix the problem in GNOME. If you don't get an answer, post the question in the GNOME mailing list or IRC channel and you could be lucky and get some help.

I saw a bug-report for it, but I dont have it handy.
Anyways, it's a known issue. I had the same thing happen, and was confused till I saw the bug report.

Thanks, Wagoneer. If you find the bug report and have a moment, point me in its direction.

no problem, I've been doing a little battling with FC5 x86_64 so I came across that one the other night. This is my first crack at a non-test machine running FC so I'm right there with ya...
