Which CD/DVD should I DL?
Im wanting to try out Fedora core but im not sure which CD/DVD I should download.....
whats the difference between testing and rawhide? is rawhide unstable? and should i download i386, KDE Live, source.... rawhide i386 or rawhide kde i386 I like to know whats best.. I just want a desktop for music and maybe dvd burning/ cd burning |

Not exactly sure what you're talking about.
The latest Fedora is Fedora 7 (they drop "core" from the name after Fedora Core 6). Go to www.redhat.com/fedora for more details on Fedora. Go to the "GetFedora" link and choose your download method. For mirrors the downloads are by architecture (i386, ppc, x86_64) which would depend on what kind of system you were loading (Intel pre-64bit, PowerPC or Intel 64bit). From there you can download iso which is the DVD, and rescuedCD. If you have a DVD on the system you want to install I'd recommend the DVD (and the rescueCD for later rescues) as this will have all the packages on it. If you don't have a DVD on the system you have to install using the rescueCD. I have an older system I'm going to have to do this on but haven't done it yet. The DVD install was straightforward. |
